Interstate Batteries PowerCare division is actively recruiting for UPS Field Service Technicians whose technical knowledge and experience will help grow our tradition of Outrageously Dependable service. As a Field Service Technician you will be responsible for performing preventative and corrective maintenance to all UPS systems, DC power conversions and other critical power equipment. This includes troubleshooting and repairs to the Field Replaceable Unit (FRU) level or component level as required by model and circumstance. We currently have opportunities in multiple locations across the U.S.

As a Field Service Technician you will:

  • Service, install, inspect and replace industrial batteries and critical power equipment
  • Coordinate job scheduling in conjunction with material availability
  • Develop job specific operation summaries and cost reduction actions
  • Provide engineering and technical support to customers
  • Be responsible for on-time completion of all projects, adherence to standard procedures and safety and service interruption avoidance
  • Be responsible for emergency maintenance on a 24 hour on-call basis

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited technical school in power or control electronics hardware
  • Military Electronics School graduate is also acceptable
  • Minimum two years field maintenance responsibility of UPS/Power Conversion services technician responsibility
  • Broad installation/service experience encompassing field repair, troubleshooting and revenue enhancement
  • trong Customer service relations and safety management experience within the UPS/DC power industry
  • Ability to meet minimum customer specific criteria for projects assigned
  • Ability to work and travel independently on a sustained basis and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Acceptable driving record and drug test required
