Interstate Batteries of Southwestern Oklahoma Sells 1 Million Batteries!

October 27, 2008

Dallas, Texas—Interstate Batteries of Southwestern Oklahoma announces the sale of 1 million new SLI batteries since opening their doors in 1975.

“We are excited to be just the 45th independently-owned Interstate distributorship to achieve this goal,” said owner Tom Rickey.

According to Interstate Batteries Regional Manager Scott Moore, Tom is an invaluable asset to the Interstate system. “Tom’s consistency and longevity in selling Interstate product is simply outstanding. He employs top-tiered talent and prides himself on good service. I hold Tom and his team with the highest integrity, and his good character shows in the workplace.”

“My philosophy is to do the best job you can do, and the rewards will come,“ said Tom.“ We just show up every day and do our job. Our success is fueled by the loyal people we employee and the dealers we do business with. Interstate has been a great company to partner with all these years and we appreciate being recognized with this honor.”

Tom and his wife purchased the Interstate distributorship in October of 1975, and they ran the business out of their two-car garage for the first few years. Since that time their business has experienced steady growth in sales, currently has 7 employees and has expanded to a 10,000 square-foot warehouse. In 1998, they expanded their business endeavors to include an Interstate All Battery Center in Norman, Oklahoma, at 1065 36th Ave. NW where customers can buy 16,000 different batteries for a variety of uses ranging from cell phones and laptops to watches and even tractors.

IBS of Southwestern Oklahoma would like to thank all of their employees, dealers and customers for their loyalty and looks forward to meeting and exceeding their battery needs in the future.
